Project Description
Create a method to guide and advise users about new 'lump sum' (bedrag ineens) pension options. The key objectives are to clearly inform them about this option and illustrate its potential consequences on their future pension, ultimately empowering them to make informed decisions.
Introduction
The PensionSuite by Yellowtail Conclusion is a modular and back-end agnostic total solution designed to simplify pension communication and engagement. It enables the rapid and cost-effective deployment of customizable pension websites, participant and employer portals, and pension planners (basic and complete). Key features include user-friendly design, comprehensive information delivery, seamless integration with existing systems, and full management and hosting by Yellowtail. The suite aims to empower stakeholders with a better understanding of their pension situation, encouraging informed decision-making.

Recognizing the upcoming introduction of options like the 'bedrag ineens' (literally 'amount at once'), a future feature allowing retirees in the Netherlands to receive a one-time payment of up to 10% of their accrued old-age pension, Yellowtail Conclusion proactively addressed the need for clarity. While the 'bedrag ineens' offers financial flexibility, it can lead to a lower monthly pension payment and may have consequences for taxes and allowances. Therefore, the Pensioen & Vermogen team and I collaborated closely to develop Caitlyn, the new AI chatbot integrated within the PensionSuite. This supporting tool is designed to inform users about these potential consequences and even visually demonstrate their impact, further enhancing the PensionSuite's ability to provide comprehensive and understandable pension insights.

In this scenario, we follow Mrs. de Vries (fictitious). Planning to buy a boat with her partner, she's considering using a 'lump sum' from her pension but is unsure of the consequences. The Caitlyn Chatbot provides Mrs. de Vries with specific calculations based on her answers and provided data. Furthermore, Caitlyn manages aspects of the PensionSuite and directs users to relevant information pages. This empowers Mrs. de Vries to understand exactly how much she can allocate to the boat and the resulting impact on her remaining pension and future pension income.
Functionalities
Tailored questionnaire
To facilitate intuitive calculations, Caitlyn generates a tailored questionnaire to gather necessary information not currently available.
These specific answers enable Caitlyn to perform a relevant calculation that more accurately aligns with Mrs. de Vries's individual wishes and requirements.
Humanized communication
Leveraging AI intelligence, the chatbot interaction is designed to feel human and accessible. Caitlyn demonstrates this by proactively engaging with the user, anticipating their needs and goals, and maintaining an appropriate tone. For example, she initiates the conversation by asking about the desired amount for the boat purchase ("Heeft u al een idee welk bedrag u nodig heeft voor de boot?"), showing an understanding of the user's specific situation.
Multiple scenarios
Equipped with all the necessary data provided by the user, Caitlyn intelligently generates precise calculations that directly reflect their stated wishes and requirements. Recognizing the complexity often involved in pension planning decisions, Caitlyn proactively guides the user towards a more comprehensive understanding by assertively suggesting the exploration of various potential scenarios. To facilitate a clear and insightful comparison, these multiple calculated outcomes are then presented side-by-side, enabling the user to readily analyze the different impacts of their choices and make a more informed decision about their pension.
